Chiesi Global Rare Diseases is committed to the rare and ultra-rare disease communities and will continue to work to support these patient populations with a high unmet need. Alpha-mannosidosis is an ultra-rare, genetic lysosomal storage disorder (LSD) that affects patients differently as symptoms progress throughout their life. Alpha-mannosidosis is challenging to identify and delays in diagnosis are common.
Chiesi Global Rare Diseases is a sponsor of the Invitae Detect LSDs program, increasing access to this genetic testing and counseling program—at no additional charge. Together we are bringing patients closer to an accurate diagnosis and appropriate clinical management.
Eligibility
To qualify for no-charge testing through the Invitae Detect LSDs program, the patient must be located in the US or Canada and be suspected of having an LSD based on at least one of the following:
- Clinical features

- Family history related to LSDs
- Lab results suggestive of LSDs
- Presumptive positive newborn screening
Individuals in the US and Canada tested through the Detect LSDs program are also eligible for post-test genetic counseling through Invitae at no additional charge as part of the program.
